Palm springs


Just pulled into the famous Palm Springs and it reminds me a lot like Central Otago in NZ really rocky and retro!  We visited one of our resellers today - Interiors Illusions in Palm springs where I met the lovely Goli. (pictured below - standing in front of Rob Ivers' work)
After that I met Shaun who has helped Sharm with connections here.
Our next stop: the Viceroy Hotel in Palm Springs where we are staying, how I love these beautiful interiors!


Tomorrow we are lucky enough to be part of a photo shoot here at the Viceroy in Palm Springs (interiors by Kelly Wearstler) and I just happen to have the perfect swatches!

Trip to the USA day 1

Tai, owner and designer of Bandhini will blog about her visit to the USA, where she will be reunited with her son Sharm. These daily updates will let you in on Tai's appointments and overseas adventures. 

Flying to LA

I hit the ground running with a tour of hollywood close to the leafy Hollywood Dell where Sharm lives. (see pictures below)

I met with Leo and his lovely mother at River Plate and visited our warehouse and distribution centre where we got some orders out. After that I met with Sharm's hairdresser Tom who does Rene Russos hair - all this in under 8 hours.

More facts about our linens

As we mentioned before (in this post), linen fabrics are biodegradable and recyclable.

Did you know Linen is a textile made from the fibers of the flax plant? Linen is not easy and labor-intensive to manufacture. 

Flax is grown both for its seeds and for its fiber. Various parts of the plant have been used to make fabric, dye, paper, medicines, fishing nets, hair gels, and soap.

It takes about 100 days from seed planting to harvesting of the Flax plant

Our Cape cod range out of the 2012 collection (below) is well known for the use of linens. Bandhini's most popular linens include Natural Linen and Linen Oxford Silver.

After the cultivating and harvesting of the flax plant, the fiber will be taken from the stalk. This fiber will be spinned and woven into a beautiful linen textile. 

Our production unit in India will use this linen to create cushions, quilts, bedsashes or throws by hand following Tai's designs closely.
