Tai Shaffer’s gorgeous and exotic designs were also a hit at the fair with just part of her Summer Collection on view.

Bandhini has a fantastic website which features each individual product in detail and some terrific YouTube Videos showing behinds the scenes videos of past and present season collections and also the making of their products.

It’s well worth a visit and very inspirational.

Dorset Uk

I adore the English countryside; the rolling hills, the stone hedges in the fields and the lines of the land. I have become an obsessed observer of the beautiful stone houses, thatched roof cottages, Georgian and Pallidian mansions and Roman Ruins. it is so incredibly interesting to see how the English dwell in these incredibly old and special buildings beautifully kept and restored. And whilst the weather has been kind to us you can imagine the weather these
buildings have had to endure over the past many hundreds of years yet the still stand regally and thank God so well protected from the National Trust.
Each village on our drive from Dorset to Surry to the wonderful town of Bath gets cuter and cuter and as you slowly pass see the villagers get a little glimpse into there lives which feels to me a lot more community and interactive to suburban existence. Bath of course is sensational, a natural spa discovered by The Romans and made into a holy hang out for it's elite and then reinvented by the Georgians upper crust as the trendiest place to be and be seen in England.
It is essentially a architectural feat of father and son over two generations and a testament to town planning and keep things beautiful by a consistent plan and commitment to design, rather than architectural egos run wild.

Apart from the buildings the people have really done it for me, I guess it is the familiar cultural and language that allows you to chat away with witty remarks in ques, pubs and caves gaining just a much a smile with the many interesting accents as to the funny content.
In one cafe in Lymes Regis a little town on the Dorset coast 3 old girls sat next to us chatting about the just been royal wedding which has been a great crowd pleaser here. Conversation went from "Oh my God em hats, did you see the them, some awful contraptions"(accent intended).But wasn't he lovely the brides dad out on the mower the next day, that Victoria Beckham, you know what they say bout her - looks like she been chewing on wasps!" .Of course Andrew and I over hearing this are falling of our cafe chairs laughing - as I adore humor this has been a highlight of the tour along with their laughter with us.

Flood Relief - Alliance Homes

Alliance Homes set up a house for flood victims last Friday. Bandhini was happy to donate cushions and quilts, to help this lovely family out. Have a look at the transformation thanks to Alliance homes an everyone sponsoring this project.
To give you a little background info, this house was completely submerged during the floods and the occupants, a single mother and her teenage daughter had to be rescued by boat. They received nothing from their insurance company and have had to use every possible resource just to get back their walls, flooring and electricity. Some of the only items able to be saved were a collection of wooden masks and artefacts from PNG belonging to their late husband / father who passed away 6 years ago after a long battle with cancer and a small selection of family photos. It was important that we created an interior concept to honour these special pieces.

Bordeaux is the land of roses and red wine - heaven whichever way you
go! But some seriously beautiful roses and I am picking fresh bunches
for our Gite at Chateau Coulon Laurensac www.clbx.com.
- a sensational place owned by Margaret and Ronald Rens from the Netherlands. This 18th century Chateau built in 1790 sits on the river Garonne and across from the city of Bordeaux. We have been out Chateau ogling to the Medoc that has the wineries that this region is so incredible famous for. We also visited the region of Sauternes for the sweet white wines. Apparently the rockier the soils and the tougher they are to grow produces the best grapes when the fruit has to struggle it becomes stronger in flavour! Sounds like like life in general!

After the incredible husell of Paris, Provence is bliss!
We are in a once medieval village of Menerbes overlooking the stunning Luberon Valley. It is a delightful house owned by Lovonne and Simon Burrow (originally from South Africa and then Melbourne) and perfect for a visit to this area - has not one but two ancient stone sacrcopage from 450 found in a neighbouring property that are currently a planter box and fountain (by the pool) that once housed the remains of Saint Castor the Bishop of Apt. The history in this area is phenomenal and makes one feel terribly young. We have been happy to reveal in the local area since arriving and are located in the Golden Triangle of Gordes, Abbaye de Senanque, Roussillion,
Bonnieux and Lacoste and are off exploring today.
A visit to every daily market is a must as the local produce is over whelming - we have hit in the spring season of white asparagus, strawberries, artichokes - not to mention the cheese, wine and macaroons!
I have no idea how French women stay so thin - for us we are trying to keep the flab at bay by walking and exploring!

Open yourself to people - these are the treasures of France. They can teach you to relax and let go and realize there is more to life than work. I feel that we in Ausie so need to be best performance wise we can be, and not the best person we can be for us and others.

Worry and stress are too major in our lives and we fuss over our service and needs of our clients and companies. If it all goes tomorrow then on what foot do we stand?

Close for lunch and don't rush in to be there before 10am - this is how the French and I think by God they may just have it!

London

I could really dig this town - god how civilised! The cool architects from
the last three centuries really knew their stuff and it amazes me that today
many of these crafts are totally gone - I think of the craftsmen who have
toiled at these monuments - incredible.
Good news on the retail sector
Aussie is way ahead on innovation - went to my usual haunts - Harrods (you
got to go) the Conran store (looking very tired) oka (moved from a catalog
company to big time retailer - very country home) Andrew Martin - a great
mix and to think the union Jack started here (and would be good to stop here
also).
Can't helping thinking that Aussie stores like Hermon and Hermon, Coco Republic, Papaya, o and b and others are right over the top of this lot!
I know why we are forced into constant innovation - a way smaller and demanding population!

Paris

Paris beautiful but Scarey at first with the bustling crowded streets but we are located in a great part opposite st Jacques tower and gardens.
For my birthday dinner we dressed and went to z kitchen gallieria which was a Thai French fusion and honestly divine.
Paris is certainly turning on the sunshine and today was the Paris marathon with ten thousand runners it was amazing and made all the merrier with bands on each street corner!

The lapsed Catholic in me shed tears this morning at Sunday mass in notre dame with the heart tendering voices of the brothers. Awesome both the architecture and the calling.

Tai Arrives London; Blog one

Getting the hotel JAG xjl to collect us at the airport was an inspired move after the hell of a trip and let the anxiety of it all slip away. Our chauffeur John a cockney Greek gave us the tour back to the hotel passed harrods, big Ben, buckingham palace and thru the beautiful old buildings in the city with the blossoms blazing - amazingly it is also one of the warmest days of the year!

Supporting Flood victims

Alliance Homes have jumped at the opportunity to help those families who have recently been affected by the floods which ripped apart houses through-out Brisbane.

Together with the support of local companies, including Bandhini we donate our time and supply what we can to help those families rebuild / decorate there homes which where worst affected.

The plan is to do as many homes as possible with whatever resources which have been donated - The more resources the better the recovery effort.
Donations are still welcomed so if you would like to jump on board with this cause; contact Alliance homes direct!

Bandhini Homewear Design is excited about helping those who need it the most, especially when its a cause which has been effected so close to home.

Bandhini is a company and message which is just beyond the norm of just a cushion, throw or quilt. It is something which has been tailored, designed and hand-made for our clients and their customers.

This is why at Bandhini our new direction is engaging our clients there staff, our staff in educating them in the real story of Bandhini and its products.

In this being said; we began our first training program with one of our new clients Fanuli in Sydney. Carlo and his friendly and attentive staff where very keen to learn and from my efforts it was clear that both Bandhini and Fanuli where being rewarded.

Bandhini is a unique company and needs to be shared by all those who come in its contact. We need to engage ourselves and list those points of difference which set us apart from all our competitors. We will be starting this process in the coming weeks, starting with our main points of contact, our Boyd Blue agencies.
